Gildardo Gómez Ortiz, I am originally from the Arrayanes Village of the La Laguna District of Pitalito, Huila, descendant of a peasant family, small coffee growers dedicated to planting and growing food as a family support, where I learned since I was a child the value of the land and work in the fields. At the age of 12, my parents had to generate another type of economic support and migrate to the city due to the armed conflict. Thus, I continued my personal and academic training in Pitalito, Huila, without leaving aside my roots since my greatest happiness was being able to visit my grandparents who decided to preserve their lifestyle in the countryside and it was there where I felt full (satisfied), being in contact with the land, in this way my family continued to transmit knowledge that little by little I was making them part of my personality and once I completed my high school studies, I had the opportunity to study Agricultural Engineering and complete it satisfactorily; After this, I worked for two years for the National Federation of Coffee Growers, a job I quit when my father bought a farm and I decided to put into practice the knowledge acquired throughout my life and dedicated 2 years to the care of said farm, giving up my professional life since I fully dedicated myself to the maintenance and sustenance of my own coffee crops, where I became a coffee grower putting into practice the teachings of my ancestors and the academy. This process was a great school of learning with ups and downs in the exercise, where it led me to want to delve deeper and deeper into the world of coffee, starting to market both my own coffee and that of other farms in different laboratories, this was becoming a passion from the beginning, I entered the world of learning cupping and it prompted me to work hand in hand with other people in the guild, finally all this led me to take a step further, found my own company, create a coffee laboratory and become certified as a Q Grader Catador, today Tribal is the union of tradition and knowledge; a cultural bond that connects generations and preserves our roots.
